While many Western European "sailing paradises" remain in inflexibility and bureaucracy the entire peninsula, the region of Mugla and especially their largest city, Bodrum. During the past 5 years marinas here have developed so rapidly that eventually only those marinas of Croatia will be able to compette with those in Turkey.
With its completely unfounded complacency while France and Italy will then only be interesting for the High-end-Mega-Yachts owners, but less interesting for the majority of sailing fans. With newly built airports many owners of mid-sized yachts will move to these new marinas in the Eastern Mediterranean and Adriatic shores and with them the charter holiday makers. Sunsail already has realized this trend and has a charter fleet of their 30 - 33 ft's mooring in Turgutreis.
