National finals of endurance competition of young horses by the Equestrian Society of Uzès (HUS)7/10/2016
![]() Here because it is about the National finals of endurance of young horses which is organised by the Equestrian Society of Uzès (HUS) and it seems to be a lot of fun foe all participants, they are all smiling when they pass by... The rider must develop inner awareness and mental balance as well as physical balance and fitness in order to be able to face all challenges. The best riders are like dancers: fluid, supple, strong, with a sense of rhythm, tempo, precision, and soft focus. Natural born riders have the “feel,” an inner quiet, a stillness, and intuition. If there is a problem with the horse, the rider needs to look inside. Veteran riders know that most of the existing problems come from the rider/trainer and their failure to creatively train while staying quiet and unmoved, never getting angry. The horse is rarely at fault. Endurance riding is an equestrian sport based on controlled long-distance races. It is one of the international competitions recognized by the FEI (Fédération équestre internationale). There are endurance rides right now in Uzes, South of France till Sunday the 9. October. The longest distance are 45 km, so not such extreme distances of up to 160 km. Endurance riding is one of the seven world equestrian disciplines approved by the International Equestrian Federation and is therefore present at the World Equestrian Games. There are several types of endurance events that are differentiated by the number of kilometres. This event is the national showcase for young horses from all over France. It was set up 14 years ago and started with just 40 horses. This year there were over 400. It is designed to pin point potential elite horses and influence their early training so that they are brought in a controlled and well planned manner. I understand it has become a successful a commercial event which was not the original intention and many horses are for sale. Because so many horses are Arab horses in endurance championships there is kind of cultural conflict between Western countries and the Gulf States as Qatar, the UAE and Bahrain are frequently involved in cases of doping and horse deaths in tests. The problem persists because of the inability of the International Equestrian Federation to set up clearer standards. You must contact me for High Res quality images via this contact form here.
