Mitrovica is divided town in Northern Kosovo was host for all kind of strange individuals. This Albanian fellow was not eager to hide to fact that he got his support from a German Right Wing organization in Kassel, Germany. Not that the New Fascism is outing itself with ridicules symbols like this fellow, it goes much deeper and discretely.
After NATO s air strikes on Yugoslavia and its arrival in the Yugoslav province of Kosovo, their former ally s on the ground, the KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army) and their followers expelled in an ethnic cleansing operation more than 100.000 Roma, Askahli and other minorities in order to create an "ethical clean" Kosovo.
The birth of the KLA in 1996 coincided with the appointment of Hansjoerg Geiger as the new head of the BND (German secret Service). The BND men were in charge of selecting recruits for the KLA command structure from the 500,000 Kosovars in Albania." Former senior adviser to the German parliament Matthias Küntzel tried to prove later on that German secret diplomacy had been instrumental in helping the KLA since its creation.
US envoy Robert Gelbard branded the KLA as terrorists and was called back for it by the Clinton administration despite the fact that the KLA was regarded by the US as a terrorist group until 1998 when it was de-listed, - and then the UK and the US lobbied France to do the same. The US then cultivated diplomatic relationships with the KLA leaders. Its former political head Hashim Thaçi is now the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Prime Minister of Kosovo since January 2008.
Over 90 mixed villages in Kosovo have now been emptied of Serb inhabitants and other Serbs continue leaving, either to be displaced in other parts of Kosovo or fleeing into central Serbia. Over 300.000 people have been cleansed out of Kosovo before the "international community" granted the former Yugoslav province its independence and recognized Kosovo as a souberän country.
