I am trying to keep my computer trojan-free. Otherwise, I consider this cyber attack to be just another further undemocratic action of the American intelligence (secret) services themselves with the clear message to give its ”allies" the opportunity to "publicly justify" their monitoring and Internet control possibilities.

Until Sunday morning, nearly 31,000 dollars were paid to the criminals. " These are probably Peanuts, with which people, who really "only" would be criminal would not give up only when ransom would be the sole motive.
With the new global standards of automatic exchange of information between the banks, no illegal transactions are possible worldwide from 2018 on. In theory...
But if you simply use a new address to convert your Bitcoins into real money no one can know in which way you got them. Of course, you can still become under suspicious surveillance, for example, by taking a lot of money out after a big attack, but you just have to be careful….
However, co-responsibility of those secret (security) services, if at all, then by that, that they have not prevented the leak. Those responsible should also name this issue. Somehow, the co-responsibility of secret (security) services probably sell well, but at what price?
At one point exactly this trust will fade on which the secret (security) services depend on by the people. Population are willing to give credit to secretive work, but when it is turning out this trust is being abused is finish with secretive operations.
