![]() What does the State Of Emergency means in France? Human Rights People are already mumbling... Yesterday "#Humanite" had a story about this "Etat d'urgence" and points on several weak legal issues mentioning that the creation of this law which was designed during the 1970's behind closed doors. I actually agree how the French government holds equality, fraternity, and liberty in place. When it comes to incidents of high-level crime it is all about to avoid further deterioration and stopping a society slipping into a socially unstable situation in daily fear. I remember very well how from July 1991, at the beginning of the war in Yugoslavia, fear was the most driving force in escalating the conflict as it came to exchange of bullets between the Slovenian police and a kind of Fifths Colonna... It took the European Union 4 more month to send their monitors, by that time it was already too late. So, these are the conditions of the the State Of Emergency:
