This photo has an additional meaning that goes beyond the headline on the newspaper ("Some normality returned"). In the background: the building of the destroyed Yugoslav post office in the background was hosting the main channel/transmitter-station for the mobile phone network in Kosovo. The building was destroyed by 3 massive bombs that were dropped out of a "Raffaele", a French fighter jet.
Thanks to the great engagement of the then UNMIK chief Bernard Kouchner the Kosovars have had the unexpected good fortune that they were given a brand new state of the art mobile phone network. This phone line is even sharing the same international prefix Telephone number of the questionable classy Monaco: +377... Today the happy newly-freed Kosovars are enjoying to use their prepaid cards, paying straight into the coffers of their liberators.
